That beeping is the smoke detectors. Whenever the power goes out at my house, the smoke detectors beep every 30 seconds or so. That's what that beeping sounds like to me. And since there's no power at the house...

edit, and I bet it sounds so creepy since that house echoes so well since it's all glass. I didn't see any carpet or anything else that would absorb the waves
