Credit Card

I want a credit card for emergencies, groceries, and gas. I don't need a large limit, maybe like $500 or something. I have a job and make good money... I'm not in debt but I would like to build credit, since I have none. The way things are these days with the banks shutting down and all, what is a good company to begin with? I'm not looking for rewards and air miles and all of that junk. Maximum I spend a week on groceries and gas is... $50-100. Any good companies or "gems" out there?

Start off with a cheap Crapital One card. You'll have an annual fee for the privilege, but you need to build credik, so you gotta take what you can get.

You're not going to get a low interest rate with no credit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Maybe some introductory or balance-transfer rate, but nothing that's going to last.

hsbc. love my card, low interest and 0% for the first 12 months on purchases and balance transfers (not that you have any though).

Can't find any more information about the APR after 12 months... can you tell me more?

Listen here, You do not get a creditcard to know wtf the Intrest is, if you do not plan on paying the balance month to month in full, DO NOT GET A CC, this is why half of American are hosed financially as well as the CC Companys.

Hmmm... some credit card companies have higher interest rates than other, so I'd be paying more when I could pay less. Why not pay less? I don't have a lot of experience with credit cards, but I do know that I would be paying back whatever I owed and make my payments on time... I'd make sure that I would have the money in my bank account before using the credit card or that I could at least afford to pay it back.
