Today is my birthday. I was driving to work, just about a mile from my house. I live in the country. All of a sudden a moth flys out and me scaring me to death and making lose focus of the road. I was comming up to a sharp corner. When I finally realize the corner is right there, it is too late. I slam on my brakes, but I am too close. I swerve the best I can to stay on the road but I cant stay on it. I hit a freaking stop sign first, put a heathly scratch in my front bumber. Then run off the road out into the field. But before the feild is a pretty big dip, then a big thick sprinkler pipe. I hit the big dip and then the sprinkler pipe. The large dip hit up on my bumper and put a HUGE dent in it. Then I am out in the field. So I pull up out of the field and on the road to asess the situation and give me a breathing min. Mind you I have to be to work and I don't have much time. On the passanger side the plastic wheel well cover has cought on the tire and makes a herendous noise. If I turn very sharp at all it will grab the plastic again. At this time all I am really worried about is if I can drive it and still get to work. So I get on the road and drive it. Everthing seems to be ok except the alignment. To drive it straight I have to have the steering wheel turned hard to the left. So I drive to work and am am really close. I don't really know what I shoudl do, I thought I would go to work and then deal with my truck after. Well my mom called at that moment to wish me happy birthday. I told her what was going on, and she thought it would be better if I didn't go to work and just go get my truck taken care of now. I drive another half mile to work and tell them what is going on, so I got the whole day off. So then I take it to the tire shop just to have them do an alignment (everything else "seemed" fine to me). They pull it in and raise it up, get the tire off, and SUPRISE! Not only will I need an alighment, but my lower ball joint is screwed. It is really lose. So I told them to do what they have to do. A few minutes later, the shop guy says to me "Your tire rod is bad and will need to be replaced too" and showed me how much play it had. So they are telling me that they can't align it unless they replace that. My bill is already looking to be around $330 so im like SHIT! That part would be another 120 on top of the 330. The shop guy said it will probably be ok for a while, but will not be able to align it until it is replaced. So I told them to just replace the ball joint right now, and I will get it in for the rest later. So they are working on it as we speak. I had to stop by my college to get a transcipt, and thankfully the campus was only 2 blocks away from the tire shop. So I walk to my school get the transcript ordered, and came into the library to waste some time on the computer until I hear back from the shop. So here I sit, telling you the story so far today, waiting for my truck repair to be done. Happy Birthday to ME!
