Craftsman 19.2 drill vs 18v dewalt drill

craftsman is better. dewalt ryobi black&decker craftsman the list goes on and on are ALL made by the same company. internals are almost identical so why pay more for a dewalt when its made by the same company as the craftsman.

reeaaaaaaaallllllly?

I know b&d is the low end or dewalt..

gosh I don't know what to get. I've looked at makita too, though these prices are hard to beat

For what it's worth.

I use a cordless drill every day at work and would never waste money on a B&D or Craftsman.

I get 2 years out of DeWalt or Milwaukie batteries, the Makitas are going strong after 6 months.

People that I know who got suckered into buying lesser drills ended up replacing them after just a few months due to dead batteries.

At $97 for the DeWalt you can't go wrong, if my local stores have that deal I will be picking up 2 just for the batteries.

Milwaukee makes good cordless products as well....
They make the best saw-zalls from my experience. I have one the the adjustable handle ones(11amp I think) and have abused it for nearly 5 years on construction sites. And we abuse the hell out of out saw-zalls too...I bought a Rigid once and it broke within an hour of using it. Needless to say the returns lady was pretty surprised. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I've used a lot of power tools over the past 7-8 years, and as far as construction sites down here go, DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Makita are the most popular...you never really see anything else.

Word, I have one of there saw zalls to

IMHO, you're probably better off with the DeWalt.

I went through 4 of the Craftsman 19.2v cordless drills this year. 3 of them in under 2 weeks while I rebuilt/added on to my deck. One thing is for sure - They're not meant for 3.5" deck screws. They would be alright for the typical "weekend handyman" though.

I've got 3 Dewalt 18v drills, an 18v impact, 18v sawsall, 18v trouble light, 18v shop vac

never had a problem with any of them

infact, the oldest 18v drill hasnt had it's brushes replaced in over 2 years, its been submerged in water, and was, at one point, smoke and it's still running strong

the batteries last too
