ID comp horns!

cd-1e v.2

they are in PERFECT WORKING ORDER, a little dusty and some smudges on the horn body, a few more cosmetic problems than i would like (but you really gotta get up close and personal to see them!)

these horns are EXTREMELY LOUD with an spl of almost 110/watt/metter

they will take a pretty decent amount of power as well (if your ears can take it!)

they sound AMAZING, i presonally like giving them 12-30 RMS and cross then around 1200-1500

i was not wanting to try to sell these again, but im needing some money for more important parts of my project!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i can send PICTURE via text message (dont have an upload cable)

please get at me @ 330 671 3522.

thanks!

ciaonzo- i appreciate your concern, but there are most deffiently ID CD-1E V.2

thank you for noting that they are the USD horn bodys, but im telling you with a 100% positive answer that they are the ID driver, just a different horn body. i have a close up for anyone that wants it

thanks though

Like I said, there's nothing ID about them. Period. Both Image Dynamics and USD offered the same cheap Motorola piezo driver on their entry level horns. They simply ground off where it said Motorola and applied their own stickers. Remove those four screws and take off that piece of plastic that has the ID label on it and you'll be looking at the exact same ceramic element that can be found in the USD version. That's because it's a Motorola KSN1188 driver. Now ask me how I know. I've owned both sets. That driver could be purchased for $24 back in the day.

When a person who knows what they're doing buys horns, they will be looking for a specific horn body. The USD's and the ID's sound completely different, even with that exact same driver. Had someone bought what you were selling without seeing any photos, simply because you say they're ID comps and the other guys say you're a good guy to do business with (of which, I have no doubt), they probably still would have been a little upset to find that they were, in fact, USD Wavguides and not Image Dynamics CD-1E V.2's.

There's nothing wrong with your price and I'm sure you're great to do business with, but you are selling a set of USD Waveguides with entry level Motorola drivers attached. They are one step in performance above the set that Louisiana_CRX is selling right now, which actually have the smaller Motorola drivers included - The KSN1142. CTS / Motorola KSN-1142 Piezo Electric Horn Tweeter Driver

Shane, i hate to say this, but your the silly fvcker here.

they look NOTHING alike to the link you provided,

soon i will have pictures of the exact internals of the driver.

one more note, there is no sticker...ANYWERE. they are the ID comp horns.

thanks though for your input...

Sticker or not, they are the KSN1188 drivers. Make sure to remove the drivers and take a pic of them as they appear in the link I provided. Also take a close-up of the top of the horn bodies, you'll see the letters USD molded into the ABS. Go ahead and remove the four screws and open up the driver. The first thing you'll see is a small piece of fiberglass stuffing. Remove that and you'll see a brass plate with a gray circle of ceramic crystals on it. That's the piezo element. It flexes in and out when voltage is applied to it. That moves a paper cone that's attached to the front side of the brass plate. That paper cone is sitting right next to a compression chamber. That compression chamber feeds into the threaded portion of the the driver body which in turn feeds into the horn body.
They are not ID Comps. At least not in the pics that Kyle posted.

Since you seem to be the only person who knows exactly what they are, i think it would be mighty nice of you to let everyone (Incuding tristan) know...

sorry im so testy, this halodrol is really getting to me, lol
so WTF are these labeled ID for?!?
Both companies sourced the entry level drivers from Motorola and put their name on them. It's the exact same driver but you have USD Waveguides so it does you no good to call them ID comps. It's the same way some companies sourced TC built drivers and slapped their name on them. The fact that your drivers say ID on them doesn't mean anything and it doesn't make this an Image Dynamics set of horns. They're very different.

So in a rundown, ID outsourced and used an oem company to supply the entire build, read up's on the USD wave guides make the horn body itself seem very promising and unless the person is looking for an absolutely audiophile grade horn they are more than likely going to be satisfied with this driver. Given the link to the driver lists it as 60per before shipping and I cant find a price for the USD "recurve" hornbodies the price if "shipped price" seems fair to someone looking for a good set of horns right?
