Covering bused back window- Against the law?

my cousin put a toyota tercel in the ditch and it ended up on its side with a busted side window and mangled but he made a plexiglass side window complete with a hinged flap covering a hole to pay tolls from IL to here (drivers side damage) Anyways you could try riggin up a big sheet of plexi cut to size

as stated some vans and such dont have back windows, as long as you have 2 fuctioning side view mirrors you could weld it solid and be ok.

While we're on the topic..come november...

Anyone want a ragged-as-hell 1990 2D Blazer with no back window; cracked front window; scratched passanger side...um..and a bunch of other stuff wrong cosmetically...but runs incredible considering it has 250,000 miles on it. It really does run pretty good though, lol. Ahem. $500. Come november. I'm even leaving the recently purchased yellow-top optima battery and Hornet Alarm system in it.

ask there... THEY will be able to tell you better than us. Id assume its fine to make it solid, because theres lots of work vans out there that have no back window at all.

yea your laws are different. Tint laws here in MD are gay. On a car All windows 35% but you could paint your rear window black as long as you have both mirrors, so whats the ****en point of having a tint limit? Suv/trucks/vans just driver and pass have to 35%, the rest doesnt matter.

As far as i know, here you can't block the back window. I've seen people pulled over that had stuff piled in the back and the cop didn't like it. Our tint limit here is 20% and 25% on the windshield IIRC

call your insurance company. glass is considered a safety feature and they may cover it. if not PLASTIC sheets and duct tape! seen it done a thousand times.

I would think you would be fine doing whatever to the window even blocking it completely. As speed freak said there are plenty of vans that don't have back windows, as well as dump trucks, box trucks and all sorts of other vehicles, however a cop could maybe be having his period and try and come up with some reason why it should be clear , ya never know these days.
