cover your dash

[bumping]

Trying to get some help/info. I want to cover my dash cause I do not like the brown color. I was thinking of covering in with leather used to cover car seats. Has anyone done something like that or what would you reccommend. Want something that will look good and last a very long time without being damaged by the sun.

Any help will be appreciated.

If you have the time i would sand it with some really course sandpaper....apply a thin coat of bondo sand that prep for paint and spray it....that will give it the fiberglass look....but if you just want to change the color just spray it with Krylon Fusion or Auto Interior paint.

Thanks. Will sanding and spraying alone last long. what if i put on about two layers of fiberglass and then spary it, will the fiberglass last long if it gets constant heat from the sun. Thats my main concern, I do not want anything which will not hold up good in the sun.

just when you paint it use automotive primer and color.....I think wat imma going to do is just get my panels painted same time i get my truck painted....if you havent seen it yet search for my door pods build 1993 ranger.

fiberglass/paint will last longer than anything else IMO...

did that to one of my cars back in 2004 and last I seen the car (couple months ago) it looked just as good as the day i did it. just make sure you don't go with a really light color, nothing too shiny and DO NOT clear coat it... You won't be able to see out the **** windsheild from the frikkin glare!
