State law requires motorists to move over or slow down when approaching emergency vehicles with their lights activated.

The Patrol’s Move Over and Slow Down Public Service Announcements use dramatic Patrol car video footage which visually depicts the importance of the Move Over and Slow Down law.

In PSAs, Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. Christopher Wood and Tpr. William A. Davis remind Ohio motorists to move over or slow down when approaching an emergency vehicle.

Knowledge and compliance of this law is key in protecting the lives of public safety workers on Ohio roadways.

quit being butthurt over such a small thing...hire a lawyer or plead no contest and take it like a man.
In traffic court, I would just go guilty since it won't end up on his record.

You know as well a I that it would cost more for the lawyer than the small fine that will come from the violation.

Only advantage to hiring a lawyer is it saves you time from leaving work, and no driving school/points. But for a kid, heck go into court, I have and its fun. Just make sure adjudication is withheld when speaking to the magistrate.

I'm going to have an attorney hired, I will be pleading not guilty and I really don't care about the ticket anymore. So what, big deal, I got a ticket. Its a minor misdemeanor. I will follow through with the complaint because the Sheriff's are a joke. You guys can go ahead and talk shit about me, I really could care less. I'll update this thread after my first appearance in court. Good bye.

Why would you bother, probably be $100 and a free walk. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I'm guessing you are probably about 20 years old.....

Ever had a flat tire or car broke down on the side of the road? Or even walked next to a road thats 50+mph? It's scary to be there and common sense to move over or slow down. You didn't slow down hence the reason you got a ticket. And having good grades doesn't mean anything nor does a perfect record really. You could have been pulled over many times before and let go and still have a clean record, doesn't mean your a good driver thouhg. I'd just pay the fine and accept the fact you messed up.

Hey savagebee, where in ok are you?

You were guilty of a law you didn't know existed (or that few know existed) but you didn't deserve to be talked to that way. Had you clipped his car or def. gotten close, I could see it. But not for what you described. Best of luck

So if i murder someone and say i didnt know it was against the law, I shouldnt get in any trouble right.
Good comparison. Taking someone's life versus a minor misdemeanor traffic violation. Excellent comparison, perhaps you'll become a judge one day with such remarkable critical thinking.

Unfortunatly, the courts really enforce the law you broke and speeding in construction zones..... you probably would of been better off doing 40+ over the speed limit on a normal day.

Still, with no violations on your record you should pull out clean; if you play your cards right.
