What's wrong with hitting 140's while still running 14's? It's a daily driver...not a race car. He can pull out the box if he's worried about a few tenths.

Exactly. I have these wheels on for the street, and the same with the box. I did my share of streetracing back in the day. Many many many tickets later I can't afford to get caught doing anything dumb on the street. Not to mention I have a 2 year old daughter now.
