Couple of DD builds....on-going

Ok...our shop is holding alil local comp on Aug 26th, so i have to build a few boxes for the shop to do before then.

The builds will be:

2 - 1512's

2 - 1508's

2 - 2515's w/ interchangeable ports and battery box

2 - 3515E's w/ interchangable ports

1 - 2512 w/ an MB2

The 2 1512 box is done:

The 2 2515 box is almost done.

With the daily port, its 8cuft tuned to 35hz....the interchangeable ports are alil different from the usual interchangable ports, i'm trying alil something i came up w/.

The whole baffle is counter sunk and will have 2-tone carpet like the 2 1512 box.

I'm starting on the 2 3515 box for my truck Wednesday.

These lil subs surprised me. I knew they can get loud, but didnt realize how good they sounded.

I built a 2cuft but tuned to ~37hz today for the shop, we stuck em in my truck just to see how it sounded. I was stunned. Amazing smooth response....loved the lows.

It peaked at 41hz!...my truck NEVER peaks at 41hz. Even w/ low tuned boxes, it always tries to peak around 48-51hz.

I have yet to carpet it, but its a dam nice lil box nonetheless. It will have a 2-tone carpet job on it as soon at our platinum colored carpet comes in.

I'm going to run these subs in my truck until my 2 3515's come in.

awesome boxes!! May I ask how you do the two tone? do you carpet the baffle then screw it on?

I router the baffle so there is a small roll between the walls and edge of the baffle.

Then you just carpet the box as normal, but you tuck the carpet into the roll. Use plenty of glue in the roll.

Well, the 2 2515 box is in. Turned out nice, but i ran out of paint for the port.

We metered it this morning w/ the ~34-35hz port in:

36hz - 143.1

38hz - 143.7

40hz - 145.5

45hz - 146.2

48hz - 147.0

Pretty dam loud.
