Countersinking

Be REALLY careful if you just use torque to do it. MDF is strong but a screw has alot of mechanical advantage and if you torque to hard or to fast the screw rips all the wood holding itself in and strips the wood. Get a drill with a chuck you can limit the pressure on and spend the 7 dollars on a good countersink tool ;-)

DeWalt makes a set that has a quick-change collet and 3 sizes of drillbits with a countersink adapter and a screwdriver bit. Predrill the hole with the countersink and then snap that bit out flip it over and drive the screws.

i always countersink my screws when working with mdf, the wood splits too easy to rely on "torque" to sink them in.
