i have a 98 dodge ram. stock alt. eh, the battery isnt wicked old but, maybe a couple years. now, i have a zx750.1 pushing my l7. but, it just doesnt seem to dam loud. i thought this thing was going to be enough for me. it seems like it just doesnt seem all that loud. im figure something power wise is restricting it. im running 4 gauge thats splits and i ran 4 gauge the zx750.1 then 8 to the zx200.4. so its not that. my meter on the dash never moves. my lights only dim a little when the bass hits. it is in a little home right now. its in a 1 cubic foot shit hole that i got online that when i put it in, it didnt even fit i had to mod it. maybe that? the amp is a refurb, but it has all the paper work from kicker that it pumped over 900 rms. this doesnt seem electrical to me but has this ever happened to anyone else? i mean honestly its not much louder then some old system that was a 800 watt peak amp 2 channel pushing 2 12s. i got a dual 4 ohm sub wired in parrel for a 2 ohm load. i just dont understand why its so quiet.

ok, thanks. i kinda figure that has alot if not be the whole problem. i just want to go through everything and, make sure everything is ok.

when i turn it up alot it seems very restricited almost. i dont know how to describe it. it seems like it has alot more left in it. but it doesnt go to far in or out.

Yes, thats from the enclosure being to small. I know what you mean.

What I would reccomend is you either build ( if you have the skills) or get someone to make you an enclosure thats properly suited for that exact sub. I guarantee you it will come to life and be plenty loud...for the time being //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

This situation follows the old saying " all in the install".

i took carpentry and cabinet making for a couple years. i pulled up some plans from this site to build a box thats 2.0 cubic feet tuned @ 34 Hz. what do you think? i will just take my time and, try to my hardest not to screw it all up. can you explain something to me quick? when i hear its all in the install this comes to mind.

making sure all the connections are very tight.

good grounds.

taking the time to run the rcas on the other side of the car.

make sure the speaker and subs are fully fastened down.

what else?

that would be a good place to start, hm. now if i had the money for all this. well, today is pay day.
