Could this foam/material be useful for sound deadening etc?

I have hoarded up a surplus of both of these types of foam, hoping they could be useful for sound deadening, and turning my doors into suitable "speaker inclosures"...

Can anyone tell from these pics if this stuff could be useful in some way?

That stuff is pretty thick...I say no. Actual sound dampening material is thin, some may be a tad thicker but def nowhere near what you have.
Cool... I was thinking it would crate like a "wedge" between walls within the doors, making a compression to prevent vibration...

Figured it was 50 50 chance of being awesome or useless.

it would decouple the doors preventing hard surfaces from rubbing up against eachother but untless its closed cell foam, its useless because water moisture will get in and it will mold.

As for any kind of sound wave control and turning the door into a proper enclosure, it does nothing, absolutely useless in that aspect. I'd use it for interior panels that rattle too much instead. Not at the doors.
