copy, paste?

My copy/paste doesn't seem to work right. However i can copy from an aim instant message and paste it anywhere. But i can't copy from anywhere else, anyone got any info?

p.s- Yes i've got lots of ****, but I wouldn't be willing to delete it all to fix this problem, i've tried using spywhere removals and adware...

that does nothing as well. I'm thinking about going all out and doing a fresh re-install of windows xp, but all my **** noooooo!
