cops new radar guns?

i have a x50 radar detector and i was wondering what it means when LASER and POP go off???

b/c POP will randomly (i think) go off and almost make me jump cause its so loud.

and laser will go off when i hold my horn down.

what gives?

Pop, or instant on Radar and Laser are not new(Well pop is newer, within the last couple years). If laser goes off(if its an actuall cop) then your pretty much to late..

but there are times when you do.

op: pop is for radar guns that turn on and off instantly to try to catch speeders that have radar detectors, so that way your detector won't go on until he already hit you with it.

you pretty much can't get away from a laser gun. plus the only way the laser goes off from what i understand, is if he actually hits your detector with the laser(because lasers don't grow out as they get farther nearly as much as radar) and cops don't aim the laser at your windshield, they typically aim for license plates and wheels

You're absolutely correct in one respect - the X50 is an Escort product.

Beltronics' top dog until the release of the STi Driver model, was the Pro RX65.

Guess what the Bel RX65 Pro and the Passport X50 have in common?!?

EVERYTHING (excepting the case)

Bel and Escort are the same company ever since Cincinnati Microwave bought out Beltronics.

The internals on the RX65 and the X50 are identical.

Just the casing and the placement of the buttons are a bit different - plus the X50, obviously, is available with a blue display.
