cops and tattoos/piercings

Im curious of any of you have friends that are cops and have tattoos and piercings.

i want to get a few more piercings on my face and some tattoos, but i hope to some day become a cop.

do any of you know specific rules of peircings and tattoos for cops? ive always heard no visable tattoos while wearing a short sleeved shirt, and no piercings on duty. do most departments get fussy about piercing holes (not gauges, just holes)

Yes they are usually per county rules. I saw a copy the other day pulling people over and he had an half sleeve on his forearm.

yea on cops the undercovers got those big *** gauge earings + mad tattoo's

locally ive seen cops in uniforms with tattoos going down to their forearm

just an fyi, most employers look down upon visible tats.

one way i look at it, if i decide to get a tattoo on my forearm, ill just wear the long sleeve uniform year round.

theres still alot of thought going into this.

ive narrowed it down that my first tattoo is going to be something religious. either a small cross, initials WWJD, or a good psalm.

I was going to try and be a cop, but I have 2 tattoo's on my forearms and I was told I would have to wear a long sleeve shirt all year round, which would really **** in the summer, but hey got to do what you got to do.

I've got a cousin thats a cop and he has a barbed wire tat on his arm. You can see it with his uniform on though.

Listen man, if you want to get a tattoo (or tattoos), just get them in an area where they're not visible when you're wearing shorts and a t-shirt. I know you wanna show off your tats, but you also want to get a job. Many employers don't allow visible tats. It just depends on what you want to go into. But, just know that having visible tats will severely limit your ability to gain employment in many fields.
