Congress To Consider Legislation To End Minor Pot Arrests

I'm guessing its honestly not a smart business decision for them, if it was we'd already be kickin back to a pack of marlboro greens right now.
Either that or tobacco lobby on the hill isn't worth dick anymore after recent lawsuits and legislation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
i dont remember where i read it (i can try to find it later if anyone gives a hoot), but i believe phillip morris already has the rights to marijuana cigarettes if they become legal. i really gotta find the info, as i know no one is going to believe me lol.

btw, to the other guys posting in this thread....duece is right, NOW is the time to write in to your congressman and tell them you support the bill. SOOO many people just say "yea its a great idea, blah blah blah" and have all these good points, but then they sit quiet, do nothing, and go on with their lives. donate, write, etc and let yourself be heard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

even then, chances of passing are slim to none, however this is how the system works and this is a GREAT start

havnt watched the vid yet though.

Thats the one part that hangs me up, and I think will hang up the passing. How do you accurately enforce DUID's with no test currently available to test if your high ATM, and didn't just smoke yesterday and it still tests positive in your system?
field sobriety test?

field sobriety test?
Is great, but there is a reason why they have the breathalizer and blood tests for alcohol...quantifiable hard evidence from a calibrated machine. Thats a great backup to some random cops perception of your intoxication when it comes to court.

I wouldn't want to be sober and have a cop pull me over, say I was stoned and failed field sobriety tests, then I take a wiz quiz and because I smoked pot a few days before I fail and get a DUID.

A bumper sticker from my time in Utah in the 90's: LEGALIZE ADULTHOOD

The rightwingers love guns and hate pot.

The leftwingers hate guns and love pot.

I say give everyone a gun and a How To Grow Marijuana video. Once everyone gets stoned, they'll either be mellow and won't shoot or if they do shoot, they'll miss...LOL!

Seriously though, it's time to end the Drug War. The drugs won, the criminal syndicates are making billions, the government bureaucracy put in place to wage this fruitless struggle is another drain on us and it's just a repeat of the mess we had back in the Roaring Twenties with Prohibition. At least the people back then were smart enough to realize the mess they made and dumped it. The cure of Prohibition was worse than the disease of alcohol consumption and the same thing holds true for other intoxicants that are not in political favor today.

If you want to read a book about how our own government aided drug dealing in the 1980's, get the book "The Underground Empire" by James R. Mills at your local library. A DEA operation called CENTAC was set up to bust the highest level echelons in the drug trade. Guess what they found out? Our own government was right there! When the DEA investigators started getting resistance from the State Department, the Executive Branch and others, it became apparent to the DEA people just what the real lay of the land was.
