My boot priorities are #1 hard drive and #2 dvd drive. Is there some way to make it boot from disk short of taking it apart hitting the cmos switcher? I am locked out of bios.

Boot from disc as in CD or DVD? You have to have a bootable CD or DVD in the drive. Usually pressing F2 or Esc will bring up a list of bootable devices. Boot from CD and follow the prompts.
