I clicked the 2 of the 4 fans up on max.they have 3 settings, for 3 months they were on low

with no issues......now my PC is annoyingly loud

while ur gaming next time, physically feel ur equipment specifically your video cards heatsink, ram, hard drive, and processor heatsink
if anything is hotter than "a little warm" your computer is overheating

edit: also get some compressed air and spray inside your case for dust... dust buildlup will definitely cause overheating, especially inside the processors heatsink where you have the heatsink enclosed on both sides by a fan and processor, so the dust gets trapped inside
Ever felt a running proc or video card? They're usually quite a bit past 'a little warm'. Stop talking out of your ***.

I did blow the dust out and it seemed to actually make it worse and shut down even faster after that......the Antek case has 3 huge fans, the 8800GTS has its own fan as well as the CPU...Lots fans and air in there...
Lots of fans isn't always a good thing. It's not always about cfm, as direction of the airflow is more important than the amount. If you've got fans blowing in the wrong direction, you can actually cause the system to run hotter than it should.

And I'd chalk it up to the cheap POS memory and PSU. Replace both with products that are worth a shit.

due core e6850gigabyte GA N650SLI mobo

2 gigs of OCZ Ram

300 gig HD

EVGA 8800 GTS

OCZ2700 PS 700 watts

dvd burner

simple,been working great till yesterday

then my 8800 exploded and sparked.....I put in a spare little vid card

and it worked great for a while but started crashing again and now barly runs.

I think its the PS crapping out
Maybe because you changed to a smaller car your haardwre excelorator isnt keeping up with the game an cpu usage thus shutting down in FAAL ERROR MODE b efore frying the puter

just a thought

food for thought generally if it's hardware or software related you'll get the bsod. if it's the psu it'll just completely power off just like you completelty shut the box down.

I didnt know OCZ was cheap memory and power supplies

I am buying a replacement Powersupply and see what happens....

I have to go with my gut instincts and I think I have a short

I agree on the fans and CFM thing, but I noticed I cranked up all my fans and now

it shuts down even faster, maybe because I am using double power to speed up the fans

In general all these PC parts are made in china junk,I have been building race engines and cars

my whole life and when the import crap invaded out market place we had failures everywhere

You can expect Made In China parts to fail more than normal

The computer guru is here....

I didn't read the whole thread so I have no idea what's above besides the first post so with that -

I know the problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Your PSU is bad. There is a short in the PSU and its 10 times easier to just replace it than fix it. I had the exact same problem with a power supply at my parents house. They had a computer built with a really crappy "Mustang" power supply. What kind is yours? I suggest thermaltake they're very good. I got the one I posted at the link below. It works perfect and plenty of cables (almost too many) for later upgrades. Hope this helps. If you have more questions PM me.
