Computer hardware geeks, neeed your help

In addition to what I have stated in the above posts...

SN41G2 is the Shuttle model that I own. Guess what? It has a 200 watt PSU!!!. Hmm:eyebrow: ...no problems running the 9800 pro. Remember, this unit is almost 3 years old.

Let me add one more thing. A mini PC will never see the amount of periferals that a ATX form factor PC will. There is only so much that you can add to a mini PC because of it's design. Also anyone can slap a 450 watt sticker on a PSU but will that PSU be true to that wattage? These systems are designed for portability as well as performance and the power supplies in these units are much more efficient. I can just emagine what enhancements, desingn as well as performance implementations have been implemanted since I bought my mini PC

My point of view is not based on just numbers. Just the facs. And the fact is that 250 watts will work with a 9800 pro.

I would ditch the sff case and build something to sit on the floor. You would have a lot more upgrade options in the future, and if its on the floor more desktop space. If your set on a SFF case look at something like this. I personally would look @ a 7800 GTX instead of ATI. Plus i know your rich flakko so you might as well go with a 7800gtx SLI set up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i found this sff with 350 PSU,

well i have an ATX right now, and i have no room to store it on the floor... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

no way am i rich lol, which is why i am going the "cheaper" route if i was rich, i wuold snag that SSF you reccomended to me in an instant.

should be fine...try buying a card at fry's or comp usa or best buy and just return it if it doesn't work...no harm in doing that right? Should work fine tho

i would rather get a 6600 gt tho....itz pretty close to a regular 6800. 6800 > 9800 pro

i did a quick google search for 'shuttle psu problem ATI' and came up with these in 2 seconds...

Im certainly not saying that it doesnt work for him, and it might work flawlessly for you too, but it might not. Why take the chance?

Have you thought about maybe getting a desktop replacement? I dont know your budget or intended use. But you could look @ a 17" lappy like the dell 9300, or 9400. They will take 6800, 6800ultra or even 7800gtx (with a little modding). On another forum people were buying stripped versions and upgraded them themselves...ending up with like 2.4 Pm, 7800gtx, 2gigs of ram for $1400-1500. Not bad for top of the line gaming notebooks. I got a 9300 with a 6800, and it fcking pwns..

The 250 watt PSU WILL run the 9800p just fine. The reason they list a 300w+ psu is because most applications are for a full sized computer. The full sized PC usually has more fans, more CD drives, and the motherboard is bigger with more room for expansion and all of that needs the extra power. The smaller PC has much less and is doesnt draw the extra current.

THANK YOU MOE!
