computer gurus

Depends on actual quantity of data. Anything under 5gb i'd say burn to disk (cd or dvd) then over to other computer. Anything over that and i'd say move his old hard disk into new computer (temporarily) and transfer data then tale it out. Not a very hard process really.

Or this,,, makes more sense, if both computers have similar specs,

Unless the music is on different HD then the Operating System [windows] and then it wont be any problem

what makes you think an external hard drive won't crash?

1. put the old hard drive in the new computer

2. if you got a home network thing set up (wireless router), enable file sharing and transfer over the network....crossover cable is an alternative to a 'network'

3. burn to dvd

id use my 3rd hard drive that doesnt have an OS on it. hook a third HD up to the old computer and transfer the songs to it. then hook that 3rd HD up to the new comp and transfer to new PC's HD or just leave 3rd HD connected to new comp
