So I uninstall the device..then a pop up comes up with a new device has been detected. It installs but there is a problem, and "the device may not work properly."

go to device manager right click on the device and uninstall.

or go to control panel then admin tools then event viewer and see if it's showing any error messages.

also in admin tools go to component services then click services

try disabling removable storage to see if that stops it. if it does then your usb drive is messed up.

Hook the printer back up and do a:

right click my computer/properties/device manager/USB controllers/then right click each device and check the status
