I keep getting this pop up:

USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfucntioned and Windows does not recognize it.

The only thing I have hooked up via USB is my printer, which I have unhooked, and I still get this **** message. Any ideas?

Well I have a wireless keyboard and mouse. From the little receiver the keyboard goes into the keyboard slot, and the mouse is usb, but came with a little adapter to go in the mouse slot.

I unhooked the mouse completely, and it still did the message.

But to answer your question, as far as I know, I have not changed anything. I was having some probs with my printer, so I thought it might be it, but I unhooked it completely and it still does it.

all you can really do now is power down, unhook, power up and then restart to make sure the computer sees the item as missing, power down re attach and power back up.. its a hassle but thats what i usually do

I shut down, unhooked the printer and started back up.

So far, no pop up. Ill let it go for a little while to see if it comes up. If not, Ill shut down reconnect and start back up and see what we get.

Could it have anything to do with a usb jump drive I just recently started using? Is there supposed to be drivers I need to install to get it to work properly? The message says something about drivers missing. This is all I can think of.

Driver Error...Uninstall and Re-install....Should fix the problem
I dont know what device I need to reinstall the drivers for.

Could it possibly be a problem with the motherboard or anything like that. (Keep in mind, im relativly stupid about computers.)

Found something that may help you guys out...

I go to Device manager, and double click the usb entry, then the stange part, and unknown device apparantly is connecting and unconnecting. I can right click on the "unknown" device that shows up and I get 1 of 2 messages (depending of if its connected or not.

Either

A) No drivers are installed for this device.

or

B)Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

Does this help you guys out any in determining my problem?

Ive also tried uninstalling the device, but it just keeps coming back.

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.
