Components Vs. Braxial

I run an Aura MR62,which is a braxial comp set - they kick ***

I dont think they offer much advantage at all other than mounting convience

and also they are not very common so selections/choices are limited........

I like it how "braxial" is now = to "coaxial"...sort of like "Kleenex" taking over "tissue" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyway, there are a few component sets out there that offer coaxial mounting of the tweet, I know, because I'm shopping for them now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ID Chameleons, Boston Pro Series 6.5's, Boston Pro60's, Boston Z6's, Crystal CSX's (I believe) and Morel's are ones that come to mind.

The crystals are co-ax I think, good ones at that..........

No one mentions them here much, but they are prolly the best speaker

for the price...........

The Sync8's are what will be in my car (as soon as I get around to installing them)
..... 8" kevlar/fiberglass cone mated with a little dinky aluminum tweeter without a nice damped rear chamber??? 2nd order??? What a horrible idea...

That midwoofer is gonna start having issues @~ 1.2-1.5khz for sure -- and I doubt that tweeter could play under 2.5k... unless its got some hidden features :p

Just my .02

And yet they have won many world finals //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

But yes...they must be horrible, when you haven't even heard them.......

I've never rly looked into SQ competition rules... but if they can possibly win ethr the competition wasn't that stiff... or they obviously don't check for THD and energy storage :p -- depending on what exact cone profile they decided on -- there will ethr be some fun peaks or nulls in the FR due to breakup modes improperly dealt with...

Never seen those 8" before... but I'm just saying from a technical standpoint... horrible idea...

Granted some people like distortion...

There are plenty of speakers/sets that look bad "on paper", but sound fantastic.

Which is why spec'ing out "on paper" isn't the only thing matters.

Though you are still drawing a ton of generalizations about a speaker you know nothing about.
