components or 2 or 3 way?

I have a 2000 Ford Focus sedan with 6 x 8 factory speakers. I would like to seriously upgrade my mids and highs but, I don't know if I should go with components or 2 or 3 way. The 6 x 8 hole is hard to find a component for. Is there any adapters out there so I could put in some 6.5 components. Or am I going to have to go with 6 x 8 - 2/3 ways.

I would even go with 5.25 comp. if there was an adapter. Is there an adapter and where could I find it.

Any advice would be great!!!!!!!!!

i would personally go with 6 1/2 Components. And i would go component over 2-way or 3-way drivers as well... but that my opinion...

Are you looking to drop them in the front or rear? 2-way drivers would be a little cheaper and an easy way to fill sound in the rear. .. but i would definately say stay with Components up front... lata

there are adapters, try like ikesound or something, a 6.5" component will fit int aht hole, io ahve mine in stupid *** 6*8 spots, but teh 51/4 would fit better... may not even have to use an adapter... try ikesound, or even crutchfield, crutchfield ahs a great fitting guide, but their prices are too hgh/

Ok Ike sound didn't have anything on adapters for components. Any other suggestions on where I could find adapters. I would like to put 6.5 components in the front doors and proally go with 6 x 8 2 ways in the back. Should I use three way in the back or would 2 way be fine. what brand should i use. ?alpine, mbquart, kicker, focal--what is good for the price 150-250$

you actually probably wont need an adapter..

i didnt... go to your local shops, and LISTEN.

dopnt buy anyhting you ahvent heard.

try polk audio ex357's, i had em in my tbird, sounded great, and they were running off my hu.
