Completely Stumped!! Please HELP!

ok so I have a Sony WX-GT77UI head unit, KAC-7252 amp, and one KFC-WS12 sub. I cannot get this thing to do anything for the life of me. The amp has power, all the wires are connected, and the sub does not do a frickin' thing. The head unit has three diff types of preamp outputs (front/rear/sub), I've tried every one.

I'm thinkin its something to do with the head unit. Keep in mind all of the equipment is pretty much brand new. I have a tried everything that I can think of and nothing seems to work. (Even tried switching the amp.)

Pretty much a novice at this stuff...Help me please! thanks.

Double check RCA's go into the Inputs on the amp, not the Outputs. Also, some H/U's have a sub on/off option. Could be either.

Do you have a dmm?

Did you turn the gain on the amplifier up at all?

Does your cd player have the option to turn subs on/off?

Checked the RCAs, even tried diff cables, haven't seen a sub on/off setting, although i do have the sub on the EQ turned all the way up. And i'm not for sure what a `dmm` is. tried messing with all the settings on the amp, nothing has happened. thanks.

dmm = digital multimeter. Owning one is a necessity if you're going to mess around with car audio. You can buy one at walmart for less than $20...

Try hooking up a speaker to the amp and see if that works. Its probably not a setting on your head unit if it doesnt work on any of the sets if pre outs.

Tried everything except hooking up a different speaker to the amp. I will try it and see what happens. Also could a poor ground connection have anything to do with it? I figured if that was the case the amp wouldn't even power on. Thanks everyone.

Have you turned up the sub volume in the menu?
