If I wanted to get into an upcoming audio competition, what class would I be in with..

2 12" audioque sdc

1 pg xenon 1200.1

or is that not even competition setup?

total noob question, but you gotta learn somewhere

if its something small, they may have classes for number of subs you have or power you are running. At least those are some of the categories I have seen around here a SMALL LOCAL shows....
x2. they seem to break them down by sub size

1-12

13-24

25-36

and so on

and by wattage @ 4 ohm

1-100

101-300

301-500

and so on

Im sorry guys about posting this in this forum section. I didnt think it fit in any other sections..

anyway, I havent built the box yet. Im paying a member 5$ to design the blueprint for me.

ive got a lil 97 civic hatch so idk if the 70a alternator is going to work out? Should I get a deep cycle for the rear, and if so...what size?

if there is bassrace up there, thats usually pretty easy, its just bracketed so even if someone has 4 18"s you can compete against them (if they want to) in the same bracket (129.9db more than likely)...

or like said above, USACi is good, i like that style, you would be streetbeat 2 iirc.

Iasca, you could do bassboxing featherweight.

just depends on what local shows do there. most have "local" classes: 1-2 subs, 3-4 subs, 5+ subs, 1-2 subs walled, 3-4 subs walled, etc. those usually go by peak score.

and it depends on where the mic is placed too lol, lots of variables, you should just go to a local show and see what they do first. see what other people are getting as far as scores, with similar equipment to see if its worth it. most comps charge $10 up to $25 per event usually. and finals are a lot more expensive if your good and get great scores

would I even stand a chance? I dont wanna show up and leave last place.

and are they about sq? like your 6.5's and 6x9s count, or is it strictly the subs

some events have SQ and SPL competitions, not sure about the 6.5's and 6x9's though.

with that equipment, in a good ported box in a trunk car you should be doing right around 138-140db sealed up at the dash. which at most local shows is good, ive seen some guys with 2 18"s in a wall do 133db with windows down LOL... at the same show i did 149.9 with windows down some with 2 15"s

well I did a complete sound deaden job on my car with peel and seal...yes I know some people hate peel and seal, it was done because my civics exhaust is loud.

anyway, its going in a hatch. so will i get more db's?

well what I meant was. i dont wanna show up with my nice kenwood excelon x493, pg xenon 1200.1, and 2 audio q' 12's and then they see my visonik 6x9 and visonik 6.5's they laugh at me
