I was just wondering how the following would compare in terms of loudness given that they were in optimal boxes, ported at 38hz, in the same car.

1.) 2 HDC3 15's off 2200 watts (1100 each)

2.) 1 HDC3 18 off 2200 watts

3.) 2 MTX 9500 15's off 1200 watts (600 each)

So...what do you all think will be the loudest and by how much?

how much more so than the 18, and the mtx's are more of just a scale since that's the only system I've heard in person.

I'd also consider the SDC's if only running a single 2200D. I recently built a box for 2 15" SDC's off a 1200D and it gets low and loud.

My friend has 2 SDC 2.5's 15's....strapped on a pair of AQ 1200D's, and its pretty F'en loud....In a SUV with subs up and port back...tuned to 34Hz...sounds awesome..

Go the SDC's if your only going to run 2200D

I was just saying that only because I wasn't sure how much you could push the SDC's, since they are rated at 700 RMS. I actually would like to know myself.

Hes throwing an AQ1200D to each sub, keeps the gain around 1/2 and its loudddd. They do get a tad warm if you play them for a while constantly, but they take the power. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If I did get the 2 15's I would add another 2200 later but for now I don't have the money. How Would one 18 do off 2200 watts. Basically I want to get as loud as possible for the least money.

I didn't think about that origionally, whatever is the optimal tuning

Well 2 15's>1 18. Because of cone area. If your going to be upgrading to 2 2200's in the future I'd say go with the HDC's.

It is all install dependent. That is about all I can tell you

that's why I said if they were all in optimal installs
