Comic and Sport card collectors.

I wasn't suggesting values are completely gone, or the hobby of collecting these items is dead. But several decades ago it was a much more popular hobby than it is now. There is no doubt video games and HotWheels have replaced the lure of baseball collecting that kids decades ago use to participate in. Yes, old cards and comics will always hold some value, but not like they did in their golden era of a couple decades ago. Again, if you do it as a passion, by all means, keep doing it. But I doubt the idea of building a retirement on it, or paying for your kid's college with them, is a reality anymore.
I didnt think that I implied that I wanted to make billions and pay my kids through college. If I did. Then No that wasent my thoughts/thinking at all.

Just wanted to hear if anyone did start to sell them and see what they did. Go to Expo's and attempt to sell them their or even flea markets. Seen card comic guys/girls out there all the time selling. Or if they just took them all to a store.

I would go through and take out all rookies specail cards errors and big named guys/girls.

I think internet **** star collector cards would be popular with the kids today. And they would probably relate to them and recognize them better than baseball cards too.
Im thinking mabye Video game cards. Who watches **** now days. Most kids are getting some when they hit 5th grade.

I have like 5-6000 baseball cards at my dads house waiting in the attic. The best ones are roberto clemente rookie cards (old shitt like that), my newest ones are from the 80's.

my boss paid for a year of college at univ texas (in the 90s) by selling one of his comic books that he bought for a few bucks.

I got rid of all my cards but I still held on to my favorite basketball players cards, Anfernee Hardaway. If anyone has any hard to get Hardaway cards let me know. I was really into it when I was about 14 or so but sometimes I'll go on ebay and check for hardaway cards selling for cheap.

Had book value over $2000 in cards which I actually posted on here a few days ago, just took them to the local shop and got rid of them all. 150 bucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif just to get rid of them. Book might say they are worth alot but its only worth as much as someone will pay.

Still kept my huge Jordan memorbilia/card/anything to do with jordan collection though. Took way to much time to get everything I have to just get rid of that. The other stuff didn't have as much meaning.

I have lots of graded cards...BGS & PSA

I also have a few comics

....and Gambit's first apperance graded //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Back on topic here. I was on ebay the other day. And seen a few graded ken griffey Jr. cards going for over 700 each at the time. With many bids on them as well. It was his upper deck rookie card.

I guess there are still many good cards out there that are worth somthin still.

was probably graded pristine 10...those are very rare
No. Mostly they were in the 9 to 9.5 but then again. I know all my cards would grade very high as well. They are never touched. But that just goes to show that ppl are still interested in cards as well.

When I have been doing my research on ebay just for kicks. I look into auction only. And looks like baseball cards are getting the love still. Not much for basketball and football or hockey really.

I just sold a few phillies cards on craigslist to the locals. Got a good bit of money for them.
