hi i was wondering if this is normal i just got comcast and i usually start with 5.7 megs and then after a lil while it goes up and down it will shoot from 3 megs back to 5 is that normal or what

its cable. Its shared, at certain times in the day you will that happens. Basicly your whole neghbiorhood shares a huge pipe.... and the more people that are on using it the less you will see.

this is true... also if you "flood" your upstream (you sending data out) your downstream will drop to nothing.... so if you are running P2P software limit you upstream to ~15k
