Combination as good as 13.5 JL W7

Have you ever used a 13w7? I could not get my two to sound no where near what I wanted them to... My sa12's sounded better imo, now a 13w6 is my choice for a great sounding sub that gets decent loud....

I have not used one. I was going to buy one but for the price, I am not so sure. I like my 2 10s. But keep hearing so much about the 13.5 W7.

Kinda tells ya how good w7 was when it 1st came out and after all this time it's still a standard. I remember when kicker L7's 1st came out and won a few spl comps and bragged about that in car audio magazine's.

After 2 months of that JL audio had add saying they had won more comps than all other brands combined. Lol

But now a decade later there are better subs out. And that's good because when brands compete with each other to be the best we as consumer win! Brands that r in it for a fast sale or make the same thing year after year or the brands that copy someone's work and never come up with anything new of their own do not better us the consumer.

Since times are hard and most of us have cheaped the fck out its hard for company's to make the latest greatest new product. But I am glad we still have a few brands that still strive to push forward and give us a great product.

Ok my rants over

The new style RE XXX probably is the closest thing to a W7 as far as low end output, from what I hear. I have one (a 15") and it is very, very impressive in a sealed box on about 1500 watts.

It is actually WAY to much for me, I'm not really into bass that makes you cross eyed anymore so I'm gonna put it up for sale soon. If you are interested you can PM me.

Weren't you thinking about a FI SP4 a while ago? Your a strange fellow mugen lol. What do you plan on running now?

RE XXX15, on the audiopipe 3,000 @ 4 ohms (1800-2,000 watts), sealed box. Also tried the same setup with the DD M1C (1700 watts) but the audiopipe was quite a bit louder.

I think the W7 was coined as having a extremely high XMAX as well as a lot of cone area (13w7 was similar to normal 15"). Well the XXX has twice the XMAX I believe, 15" proobably has the same cone as a 13W7, but with thwice the XMAX.
