house shoes (the dorms i lived in were tiled, it's convenient to slip some shoes on to go piss or whatever)

lock box (for important documents, cash etc etc)

depending on how your dorm is set up you could bring a long 2x12 for a shelf to run across the room (how we did it in my dorm)
