College Students, how much $$/mo do you spend?

I spend around 1500 that includes rent, insurance, car payment, eating out, movies, and college payment. I will soo be up to around 1850 because I will be buying a new mac laptop soon.

****, i wish i only spent that much a month. With the $700/month in truck and rent payments alone, there is no way i could do that. Maybe i'll have to scrap some of the toy plans and pay my truck off.

I'm the same boat as you are. In college, pay rent, utilities, gas, insurance, food etc.

Then I payed off my LS1 Camaro instead of getting other toys. Now with those payments out of the way I get to spend some of the extra cash on modding it without worrying about a car payment. It's really nice! In 1 year it's at the point it needs a roll cage. I can tell if I messed around with modding as well as paying other crap off, I'd dig a hole a bit while not doing what I really wanted.

Keep this in mind: You have all that shit in college. Think about what you already have, not what you always "want"

Depending on the month and how much I make depends on how much I spend. I only have a rent bill which is $619 including cable and water, electricity runs between 40-60 a month, groceries are about $70 a month, then whatever I feel like buying that month caraudio wise. Im lucky to have my parents pick up the cell phone and insurance. I work at a bar so I get alcohol for free and no cover anywhere I go in the area.
Your 2k isnt too bad considering all the stuff you pay for.

Groceries are 70 bucks for the month? LOL. Top Ramen everyday?

I pay $568 a month for rent which includes gas, water, and trash. I pay about $20-$40 for electric depending on when I run the A/C. $60 for internet, $60 for cell phone, my car is paid off, $100 for car insurance, about $30 a week in gas, hmmm I think thats it.

Total is about $948 a month with all bills paid. I only make about $700 a month after taxes.

Not in college but 5-6k a month with wife and kids takes care of most everything.. Except all the BS I buy LOL.. In college I was on scholarship so my money was spent on beer and drugs and the ladies..

We do okay, but we put out around 3k a month, from my car payment, rent, all utilities, cable/internet/phone, food and what nots. We have 3 kids with one on the way.

1) Deck boss on a commercial fishing boat june-july (i leave this monday for it)

2)construction work paying $38/hr with OT, at 84 hours a week, for july-august

3)full ride scholarship

Maybe i'll skip out on the quad and pay my truck off. I do feel like i'll feel a lot better having $240/mo off my shoulders.

EDIT: me and my girlfriend are leasing a 3 bedroom home. A buddy of mine is on a study abroad program, so he may be crashing in the third room for half the year or so (he'll chip in on rent, making my rent closer to $300/mo for a little bit)

Well seeing how you will be making 38 smacks an hour plus OT, I wouldn't worry about it. Should have plenty of money to do what you do and save some.

I worked construction in Floriduh for awhile when I was 20......so been 12 years, but only made 16 smacks an hour, which I thought was really good money.

Hell my uncle pays his top guys 25 an hour.......he owns his own construction company, which I work for him from time to time when I need extra dough......granted I haven't in the last couple years because of the economy.
