How come when i start my car it almost always dies?

Are fords like this? Its a 00 mercury mountaineer. it idles lumpy around 500 rpm until its warm and will die if i put it in drive.

it just does it for about 5 mins until it warms up then it runs fine.

No other car i have had did this, and this one ALWAYS has. Are fords supposed to be like this? Oh and it died in the video, i didnt kill it.

All fords? No.

My taurus on a cold start will just sit high at around 1200 rpm. Once its warm it drops to about 600-700.

no thats not normal at all, you need to clean everything like the throttle body, MAF sensor, check the plugs and coils just do a good service to it.

Alright its going in the shop wednesday for an alignment, so i will have them take a look at that.

I mean it runs fine and doesnt run rough at all once it warms up.

Something is wrong for sure.

My ford starts just fine, not matter what the weather. Well when it got to -20 it struggled, but still kicked over.

do a basic tune up, new fuel filter too, cleand the iac like mentioned, and clean your throttle body, then report back.
