Hey, i just bought a radar detector and i was wondering if anybody knows what the symbols standed for, I have a cobra and i see the symbol X alot, i have no clue what it does,i see no cops around, but anyhow, what are the symbols..... X,K,Ka,V and S stand for, anybody know?

well not tryin 2 be a dick but it explains all the bands in the manual.... i do know that x band is usually like electronic stuff like automatic sliding doors at restaurants and gas stations and stuff... i bought my dad a cobra and after he read the manual he understood his... it breaks everything down so just read the manual and u'll be set

all u need to worry about is k ka are cops v or s are lazer i cant rember what one and x picks up stoplights and security systems on houses or shops i got a cobra too

How good does this Cobra work actually??? I've always been a little sceptical about laser detectors and there effectiveness??? And do you HAVE to mount it on the windshield?

i didnt mount mine but it works pretty good for me
