Coaxial or Component

Considering the amp only puts out 60 watts per channel. Would it be better to run 6.5" coaxials up front that take less power, (ID CTX65 75w RMS. or Hertz ECX 165 70w RMS.) or to run a component set? specifically the ID CTX65CS 100w RMS. Would it be a disservice to the comp. set to under-power them. Or will The comp. set still out perform the coaxial? the amp is a JL Audio j2 320.4

Component sets don't typically have adjustable crossover frequencies.

DSGBraves, The coaxials you mentioned would likely sound great with that amp. It's a better match of speakers to amp if you get coaxials. If you're open to upgrading that amp you could get components now. Components will still sound good at the lower power of that amp, but just looking at RMS power ratings, they might not deliver the power and clarity you want. However, as long as you don't drive the amp into distortion you might be satisfied with the output.
