i always thought it was my tweeters that were a little harsh sounding in the 1.6k-4 hz range but now im starting to think its actually my mids... (gonna rta them and get a good 30 band eq for christmas and see how that goes first)
i've defently noticed with these speakers they seem to start losing clarity a little bit towards the higher end of the mids more than the lower end.. maybe im wrong but for mids they play pretty deep and possibly sacrafice a liittle SQ towards the higher end and might also have to do with the cone material...
if i do this ill go active all around (even if i dont add the third speaker - i plan too go active eventually) - i never done it before but when it comes too tuning ect.. i think i could handle it pretty easily.. and if i decided to add a third speaker.. could anyone possible suggest a good speaker that would play well in the 800-5k area.. (unless someone could suggest a better crossover point) and if i did decide to try this.. what size speaker would i approx need.. defently not a 6.5 or even a 5 im assuming...
