CMPX2 15 or DD 9012

Hey guys. Im switching from SPL to SQ and don't know to much about these two woofers. I am switching from an audioque HDC318 and am looking into the CMPX2 15 and DD 9012 right now. Just am wondering which will best suit my needs.

I still love SPL. I've always loved the loudness but the 18 just isn't a good daily driver for me. I really want something that will put off a good bit of db, but also to hit every beat, sound clear and amazing. Also, any recomendations on which way to go on a box (ported vs. sealed) would be appreciated too. Right now the audioque is in a 7.6cuft @40hz. I would have no idea what to tune either of these subs to.

Also I have a Fusion Powerplant PPAM200010 and wanna know which sub (if either) would work best with it

id makes some great subs u can tune them real low and give that a try. any u could of tune your 18 lower

u could of done 35 bro. in that case the subsonic could b at 30 and u can hit all the low notes u want well kinda

I'd do a pair of 15" Dayton Reference subs in a shared 7ft^3 sealed box. You still get a good amount of output because of the cone area, and good transient response a well as good low end extension with the sealed box(sub with have a f3 of around 30hz out of vehicle).

The Crystal is a great sub woofer, but not so much a pure SPL driver.

I'd take the CMPX2 15 over the 9012 due to more cone area and I know it will sound good too!

IIRC the cmpx2 is a standard underhung design. Nice, but Im all about the BL optimization these days. I vote... neither?
