Clipping

correct. wires heat up and fry over time from clipping constantly, but if its for very short times shouldnt be a large issue.
are you also suggesting upgrading my wiring? because i have some kolossus flex 1/0 coming in like tomorrow already..would that help any?

I would make sure all your wires are up to right gauges as well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
well since all copper wiring is really high in price right now i could only afford to upgrade my ground wire to 0 gauge..all the rest of my wire(battery to amp) is 8 gauge.

no, i suppose i wasnt too direct with my response your subs voicecoil is a tiny wire. usually 16ga or smaller.

low pass filter is either on the amp ( a little knob/switch) not familiar with tha particular amp; or your headunit depending on what features it has. try getting some test tones. and play a 65 hz tone adjust knob till it fades.

ehh yeah id recommend larger wire. 8 ga is choking a 1200 watt amp. id recommend 4 or larger. i understand completely about not being able to afford though haha.

im sorry..im still not sure if i completely understand what your saying.

your saying play a song and have my bass EQ turned all the way up and whenever it clips adjust the low pass filter until the clipping is gone?

BUT for now if I can only replace the 8 gauge ground wire with 0 gauge thats alright until i can buy more 0 gauge for the whole setup?
