clipping amp, help!

Original set-up was 2-8" Ed subs 4-0hms, then moved to 3-8"subs running 2.67 ohms.

When I moved from the 2-subs @ 4 ohms to 3 @ 2.5 ohms, my amp starts to clip at hgiher volumes 15+. Does this mean i need a better amp? My amp is the eclipse XA-1000 rated @ 4 ohm 1% THD 320 watts, 2 ohm 1% THD 480W, the ED 9KV@ requires 200 RMS.

I put on ohm meter on my wiring into my amp and it reads 2.5 ohm.

did you set your gains properly?

did u adjust ur gains at all after u setup the new sub? Cuse its suppose to be around 35v when u were running 4 ohms, but when u switch to 2 ohms ur suppose to drop it down to around 30v

my gains go from 8 to 0.2V, as I go to 0.2V the sound get loude by clips and then the speakers burp!

no i dont mean 3.5 and 3.0. i mean 35 and 30. Check the gain setting tutorial.

the gain is all the way up btw....
