ok im looking at amplifiers and i dont really understand what i want or am looking for. im interested in (2) 12 in type R's. Im looking into a Hifonics Amplifier. i dont know which one and maybe if i understood the specifications i could know what i want. ok these are from the hifonics BXI 2006 (Brutus?) Anyway at 1ohm it pushes 2000 watts at 1 channel. At 2ohms it pushes 1300 watts. Ok what does all this mean. i think one channel means i would have to hook the subs together and then go from one sub to the amp. Is this correct. If so then whats the ohms part mean. I know this is probably an annoying question but i hope to get answers. Please help!

ohm load is basically the resistance level. your sub has voice coils at a certain ohm level and that determines how you can wire your subs together for a final load at the amp. (2x) 12 inch type r's with dual 4ohm coils will get you down to a 1 ohm load, being a good load for that amp as it does max power there.

Thats really all it is, the ohm loads (for beginners) just sets how you can wire the subs together.

ding ding ding. forgot to add that. either way he should be set on ohm loads for now......until he gets big into audio cuz we all know its addicting as all hell!
