my buddy got this head unit (clarion DXZ855MP) a few months ago, and he ran it in his car for a few weeks until he experienced some problems. I only got a brief explaination of what went wrong...but basically he said it wouldnt come on, but when he hit the power button it would go on, but then it would turn off after a little while. i will get him to write down what exactly it was that it did, since this may not be specific enough. anyways, is there any way i can check if it is fried, or what the hell is wrong with it. btw, he lost all the documents like the warranty car, receipt etc.

ok, so i talked to him again, and he said that a shop quoted him on a price and said that the face place was loose and wasnt making proper contact with the terminals. anyone ever had this problem, and is it worth fixing?
