Clarion. Poor, Dim Display.

Hi.

It is many years since I have messed with a car radio.

I have an old Clarion DRB3376E installed in an ageing caravan and the display is very dim and very difficult to see.

I assume this to be that several of the connections are not being used in its present location.

I need to know, if I connect the yellow (dimmer) wire to battery will this light up the display? or will I just destroy the radio?

Hi,

Thanks for your responses.

The radio was in the caravan when I obtained it and the display was almost invisible from the first time I used it. I have the yellow/red and ground wires connected, plus two speakers only.

As the battery is not connected all the time the memory does not remember the button settings, this is ok but the fact that the display cannot be seen is a little annoying. I might have to give up with this radio and get another one, shame to throw it out as it has good sound and reception.
