Clarion head unit

I have a clarion DXZ 725 head unit. After it has been on for about 15 min it gets super hot and causes the cd, so to say pause for 2 seconds but without touchin any buttons. It only does this once it gets hot. If you turn if to radio function it works fine. Few days ago it got so hot i took the faceplate off and touched the player part in the dash and it was so hot i couldn't touch it. Does anyone know why this cd player does this? It is the most annoying thing ever. The longer the cd player is on the more frequent the "Pauses" happen.

I was wondering if there is a small fan inside the head unit like a laptop or a computer that quit working. Not sure though.

maybe your running the deck speaker leads at a 2ohm load

and if it has a fan it will be on back of the deck where you can see it...it has to vent

i know the fan would have to be in th eback of the deck to vent but the deck is in the dash and i cant see back there.

What do you mean running running the speaker leads at 2 ohm loads. The wires all go into a harness i dont think or ever changed the load on the speaker leads. didnt know it was changeable. i had this cd player in another truck previously and it didnt pause near as much as it does now. It seems like something that has gotten worse over the past few years.
