You dumbass. It does have a 3-way xover, and more sound tweaking features than the 9855. It's also a hell of a lot easier to use, and has plenty of other things that the people at Alpine haven't even touched yet. I have owned both, and the DXZ955 is far superior to the 9855. Do yourself a favor and drink some bleach, and cleanse the stupidity from yourself.got a 3-way active xover? nope... no xover and poor eq doesnt make it seem like a 880 or 9855 killer to me...you're paying for a fancy screen, and a small hard drive, and less processing

***.
so what makes an external processor better?regardless--- internal processing is for cheap a$$es
sure if you get a P9 combo vs. an 880 but not all of us are big balla's like yourselfaren't any hu's that can do the processing i have external in any of my personal cars...
what makes it better is more options, more voltage, digital cable from hu to processor, higher slopes, more bands, etc.?
i used to own a 9835. i think i like the pioneer better. easier to navigate and bigger eq. display is nicer on the alpine though.Just ordered my 880prs recently. Hope I like it going from a CDA-9835. IMO I don't like the looks of the Clarion. I like the looks of the old school Alpines and the 880prs more. The 880prs looks more of a classy look then a show compare to clarion/alpine. But as long as you like it, cool.
I think at the given price, the 880 was a GREAT choice for this market. I think Pioneer should offer a better version of the deck...maybe call it the 990 and offer a 4-WAY CROSSOVER, 31 BAND EQ and a few other things like a better transport and keep the price at about $650-800 or so. I think these would sell very well also.Pioneer's gonna have to try hard to outdo themselves. They've done a real bang-up job with the 880.
if you have the remote there is a play/pause button...The only thing the 880 doesn't have that I really need.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
