I'm SO glad I can return them. For the price, I just about get myself one of the PG RSD comp sets, and do some work to make those fit. Considering my amp puts out 60 RMS, too, I think that'll fit much better. Hell, I could probably blow these sony's off my HU -.-

Did you not read the thread? I already said I appreciated the gesture. However, this puts me in the rut of being stuck using sony xplodes without offending my dad, and I can't even get my OWN to put in. I.e., I have to use sony now until I head off to college. I can't spend my own money on high quality speakers. And this puts my amp to waste, as I can't hook it up - even with the gains at the minimum it'll blow these pretty easily.

I would have rather them not gotten me anything car audio related. And I had already mentioned that to them - I said that if they didn't want to get me something online that's a bit more expensive (and high quality), then not to bother - I'd buy it myself with my own money. And I told them that anything from sony or dual, no matter how fancy the words on the box, and the light up colors, weren't going to be good. What do I still get?

This actually puts me with less than I had - I can't even wire up the other pioneer or kenwood coaxials I have.

To me it sounds like you're still *****ing about it. Be thankful they bought you something that you're interested in. It shows they at least put some thought into you.

I kind of am - they put me in a spot here, which annoys me. Seriously - I get to leave my amp on the shelf, and sony xplodes in my car, for the next 7-8 months. How much would you enjoy that one? I can't even change out my factory HU - they don't want me messing with it. And I have my alpine here, that I could wire in easily. Yeah, I'm just a little annoyed with it all.

However - don't think I act this way towards my parents - I have told them I really appreciate it, and enjoy it, and it sounds great and all. I just need some place to b*tch about it, because it screwed over pretty much all the plans I had of redoing my car. Had already got the wood I needed, and was going to be designing my kick panels up front soon.

Also, quite honestly, these barely sound better than the factory speakers I had, which had entirely disconnected from the rubber surround. They have no bass extension, I can barely hear just drum kicks. Everything played through them is muddy, doesn't come through clear. Etc. Another thing that annoys me, is that I had plenty of room to work with back there. Hell, if they didn't want me buying anything, I had kenwood 6x9's I had room to mount down there. A nice big open space in the door. And the kenwood's at least sound good.
