checks and balances

Alrighty, so I'm writing an essay type assignment for my political science class (aka my senior history, except it is at a college)

and the assignment calls for a opinion, which is whether or not you believe the system of checks and balances in this country is working or not working. I believe it is not working, but i don't think i've found enough resources to make a definitive argument.

Thats where you guys come in. If anyone has any news articles or remembers something about this topic (checks and balances not working), could you link them in this thread or PM me? you need to have an actual link or news article, I can't write in my bibliography i got it from some guy on caraudio.com

i did google it.

i keep getting blogs about people who think they don't work but offer little or no factual information.

Thats why I am asking people if they have noticed anything that would help me.

Right now All i pretty much have is how Dubya f'd up quite a bit, and how the Supreme Court let all the racist stuff slide during the Civil War, Reconstruction and Early 1900's with Immigration. I'd like a couple more.

I was just remarking on the sarcastic comment about iraq.

pretty much what i'm finding is that the executive branch normally takes over the other two branches because they don't do their job of checking them.

I'm the one who is writing the essay. I'm just asking for help finding resources. I'm not asking anyone to write my essay. I'm not asking them to search the internet to find me resources. I'm simply saying if someone saw something recently, to bring it up. It isn't difficult. It isn't hard. And it isn't ****ing mandatory so take the tampon out of your *** and go away.

use an online database such as EBSCO or JSTOR, you should be able to access them through the college you are taking your class at. DO NOT for any reason use Wikipedia. also for news articles use a database like LexisNexis. you should be able to pull up tons of resources that way, and with EBSCO and JSTOR you can choose to only search scholarly, peer-reviewed sources
