Checking resistance with DMM

How do I check the resistance with my DMM for my subs. I set my switch to 200 ohms and then attached my + and - lead to the vc and my reading is like .4 and they're supposed to be 4ohm. What am I doing wrong?

Just figured it out and one of my vc's is shot. Do I have any options or is it garbage? Its a Type R DVC 4ohm

type rs aren't worth reconing, ditch it unless u are infatuated with the sub. possibly sell it to some dope that might wanna get it fixed

maybe you have the DMM on wrong setting. If youre getting .4 then maybe its on wrong setting which would change decimal so it may be 4.0 and your good if its a d4 sub

put the selector on 20 ohms. you sub sounds fine....
