WORLD RECORD?

Germans biggest testing magazine for car audio - "autohifi" - tested our new Ground Zero woofers in the issue 4/2000. The Plutonium reached 80 points total and was appointed a "highlight for price / performance". 80 points is the highest rating ever given for a woofer so far. And both GZ woofers, the Plutonium and the Nuclear reached the highest SPL ranking ever tested.

Plutonium: 32!!! points out of 30 possible for SPL!?

Remark: Due to the autohifi rules for the testing and calculation of the points it turned out to only!? 32 points max SPL, but strongly calculated it would be a result of 33,67 points instead of the 32.

Nuclear: 30 points, still the best result ever tested before

Here comes a short summery of the test:

Products like the Ground Zero woofers Nuclear and Plutonium are the "salt in the soup" for the car audio scene....

The development for these woofers started in January 1999 and a first hand made non working sample was shown to a few people at the Sinsheim (Germany) "Car&Sound" Show April 1999. Now the final woofers are available.....

Not only the looking of the Plutonium is impressive, but also the BL product of 41,9 Tesla/meter is outstanding. For example Stroker from Cervin Vega does have impressive 31 Tesla/meter....

Due to the newly designed motor structure (please see HPT technology in the homepage) the Xmax of 37,5mm established a new record....

Due to the extreme T/S parameter these woofers are working best in an enclosure with a passive radiator. Even in a small sealed enclosure of around 30L and less they're still producing a monster bass with a little less SPL; but this can be nearly compensated by more power from the amp....

A new SPL record is set with 127 dB at 70 Hz and still 120 dB at 30 Hz with the Plutonium and still a new record in SPL is set by the Nuclear with 124 dB at 70 Hz and 117 dB at 30 Hz. It doesn't much matter to use only 45 Liter net volume instead of 60 L....

And how is the sound quality??? Wow...both woofers are like...like the paw of a Grizzly bear. The bass hits the testers...so brutal, so easy and with such a tremendous bass power that it scares the audience....More or less the same goes for the smaller brother - Nuclear - ....

The GZ woofers are definitely some of the best sounding woofers ever tested beside the tremendous bass output they have....

In the end the Plutonium woofer reached the 80 points total as the first one....

The Ground Zero Plutonium seems to be the best woofer in the world"

This was taken from termpro's forum...what do you guys think...anyone think its time to whip out the BS flag?

Not all that suspicious... I've had two of them in my posession before... It uses the TC Sounds motor on crack - the 4HP - and a whole lotta stroke...

I have photos of them yet if you'd like to see them next to a brahma...

The comparisons next to the brahma are in this folder, I never shrunk them so I'm going to have to suggest you go view them yourself.
