Cheapest knu power wire good or crap?

I just brought in my car to get my wires installed and i brought the cheapest knu wire 1/0. They said it was aluminum and really like 4 gauge. Did i screw myself over by being cheap? Im using it for the big 3 and wiring a 2nd battery.

I think there KLMX wire is just fine. they probably want u to buy from them so there saying its shit.

Well they did show me a 2 gauge wire and it was bigger than the 1/0 so thats why i was like :s

The most critical difference is the KLM 1/0 is good for 250A, the colossus is good for 300A.

KLM 1/0 = 2 x 4 ga

Kolossus 1/0 = 2.5 x 4 ga

As long as you understand that, it's just wire.

Man wire is wire. Like said before, stores will talk shiT about products they dont sell so you can buy their marked up stuff. Brand name doesnt make a whole lot of difference, it is just a label. The KLMX will do ya fine.

If you're getting KLM fuse it at 250A. If you MUST use the 300A fuse get regular copper wire.

Knu's cheapest wire is copper clad aluminum, rated for 250amps. I would fuse @ 250a no questions asked due to possibility of fire.

As an installer, I criticize wire that customer's bring in as well. But this is only like wal-marts legacy amps kits where their 4 gauge is actually 10 gauge. To me it sounds like they are lying and trying to dupe you. Knu has quality products. KLMX handles 250A like many have said here.

Its amazing how many posts I have read about the KLMX series wire. So we sent our cable and 4 other manufactures cables to Peformance Auto Sound Magazine. The results are in this months issue and the article is linked below.

Cable 2 (KLMX) and Cable 3 (1666 Strand OFC) are the two you should focus on. This is the exact head to head comparison in which the KLMX Series was created for. You'll find the 1666 strand copper in companies like Tsunami, Stinger, and the unmentioned name brand in the article.

The test results shows a difference of 0.03v at a length of 20' at 100A between the KLMX and 1666 strand copper! Not to shabby given the cost difference. And that is the point of the KLMX cable, a cost effective alternative when done properly.

The power output of the amp can be misleading. Since we do not know in what order they are tested, heat from the load or the amp itself can effect power output. While it was a nice addition to the article, its a good generalization but some variables in that test could have altered the wattage numbers.
